Artsadmin’s biennial festival of art and climate change returns for the fifth time this Summer from 9-18 June, 2017.
2 Degrees Festival gives us the urgent reminder that what we do individually and collectively today, will have a global impact on tomorrow.
Situated at the crossroads between the East End and the City, Toynbee Studios is the festival’s hub, with a programme of performance, discussion and public installations popping up across East London. 2 Degrees Festival invites you to inspect the microscopic fabric of our city in one moment and to zoom out and look from above the next. It asks ‘What voices are we missing by shouting instead of listening?’
The artists and companies presenting work at 2 Degrees Festival include A to Z Unit, Bernadette Russell, Disobedient, Andy Field, Ant Hampton, Jo Hellier, Andrew Simms and Sarah Woods.
What can you expect?
Embark on a field trip to harvest, map and transform found micro-organisms from the city. Listen to a panel of children relay extraordinary facts – some shocking, some just plain funny. Bring a strong bag, take away as much anthracite coal as you want, bury it.
For the latest information, please follow #2DegreesFestival on Twitter and sign-up to our mailing list.
2 Degrees Festival is delivered by Artsadmin and supported by Arts Council England, TippingPoint Sculpt the Future and the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union as part of Imagine 2020 (2.0) and Create to Connect. We’d also like to thank all of the individuals who have generously donated to this year’s festival, the dedicated runners who ran the Hackney Half Marathon to raise funds for our schools projects, and our local partner As Nature Intended.
