CRAZY BUT TRUE: call out for young performers
Do you have or know of children who like performing? Fancy getting them to perform in a fun and stimulating show about the state of the world? We might just have the perfect Saturday afternoon activity for you to bring them to.
We are looking for young people, aged 8-12, to participate in the world premiere of CRAZY BUT TRUE, a performance by international theatre maker, Ant Hampton, on 10 June.
CRAZY BUT TRUE is performed by children, who, cast as ‘experts’, are given their lines via headphones, repeating what they hear, without rehearsal. What results is a rolling list of extraordinary facts – some serious, others very funny.
We would like to invite you to bring your child/children to participate. The performance doesn’t require any rehearsals and there are free and fun activities across the building on the day for adults and children as part of 2 Degrees Festival’s TOMORROW NOW programme.
The performance takes place from 2-5pm with each slot lasting no longer than 12 minutes, with the possibility of some children taking more than one slot over the afternoon. There will be a pre-performance briefing with instructions before the first slot so you will need to arrive by 1.30pm.
Venue: Toynbee Studios, 28 Commercial Street, E1 6AB (nearest station: Aldgate East)
All participating children should be accompanied by an adult. Please note that the performance will be live streamed on social media.
If you are interested, please send us the information below to Xavier de Sousa (Producer) at xavier@artsadmin.co.uk. Your child will be allocated specific slots for the performance on the day, giving you both the chance to experience other activities taking place throughout the day.
