Twenty-three years after the first Distinguished Piece was created, La Ribot premieres her fifth series, Another Distinguée.
Another Distinguée returns to a baroque mediterranean sensuality. The performance oscillates with uncertainty as La Ribot and her guest performer move their audience around a black space tracing the edges of light and what is visible and invisible.
Originally conceived as a series of fragmented discourses, punctuating her life and arranged into dinstinct groupings, La Ribot has presented Distinguished Pieces around the world. A fascinating collection of live performance, installation, video, text and images push the boundaries of choreography, reframing our view of the body as both object and subject.
