Curated by Rosemary Lee with Martin Welton of Queen Mary University of London, this ground breaking symposium brought together an exciting range of artists, presenters and guests from different disciplines, including amongst others – neurology, nursing, social work, geography – to share their understanding of care within their specific contexts.
The combination of commissioned artworks and performances responding to the theme of care, existing works, talks and discussions, gave the attenders a cross-disciplinary, thought provoking, experience.
Reflecting on ideas that have emerged out of her cross-generational piece Common Dance (2009), this event simultaneously marked the launch of a new double DVD On Taking Care published by ResCen that reveals the process of creating this much talked about work.
Presented by ResCen, the symposium was developed in association with Martin Welton at Queen Mary University of London and South East Dance.
