Artists Selina Thompson and Ama Josephine Budge have both been commissioned by Artsadmin to create projects about climate action and climate justice in 2021. As part of Season for Ex-Change in 2021, a three-week online programme for artists and arts professional about climate action and climate justice that ran from October – November, Ama and Selina met for the very first time and had a rich and beautiful conversation about their artistic practices.

Selina’s forthcoming project with Artsadmin is Immersion and it is one of the main commissions for Season for Change, a UK-wide cultural programme inspiring urgent and inclusive action on climate change. For Immersion, Selina is working with a group of womxn in Tower Hamlets to explore democratic participation.

Ama is presenting Apocalypse Reading Room, a curated on-site library and a gathering of all the books we might need to change the end of the world. Artsadmin produced a digital iteration of Apocalypse Reading Room this summer and the library itself will come to Toynbee Studios in 2021.
