The importance of creating inclusive spaces

Following a disruption at trans community event during London Fashion Week, Artsadmin would like to make it clear that it is wholly opposed to transphobia and stands with the trans community. As an organisation committed to supporting artists to create and present risk-taking work, we’re keen to build on existing partnerships as well as collaborate with trans groups to make a safe space for trans artists to present work and for audiences to enjoy it without interruption or fear of recrimination.

As part of our opposition to all forms of discrimination, we are now working on an inclusion and safe space policy and set of procedures to ensure that marginalised groups and individual artists feel at home and able to flourish in our theatre, bar and rehearsal spaces at Toynbee Studios.
