Remembering David Titmuss, our dear friend and colleague, 1967-2021
David Titmuss, 1967-2021
We’re sad to announce the death, on 21 October, of David Titmuss, our dear friend and colleague who will be sorely missed by us all.
David joined Artsadmin in 2008 as our Finance and Catering Assistant, supporting the running of the Arts Bar & Café which was opened in 2007 as part of the refurbishment and expansion of Toynbee Studios. An Excel wizard, and a total stickler for the correct coding of teas and coffees bought for meetings, David also kept an impressive record of every meal and drink sold in the café. What David didn’t know about how the café worked, wasn’t worth knowing. But David was far from being just good with numbers, he was wonderfully creative, decorating and lighting studios for the Barts’ Hospital annual Christmas meal with flair, making menu boards for the café and always having an ambitious craft project on the go. He was a fantastic cook, treating us to homemade bread, croissants and some delicious lunches for the whole staff team. He ensured we didn’t run off with all the staff kitchen forks and kept a very special locked draw of water jugs. Every year, he ran a Eurovision sweepstake, encouraging us to enjoy its kitschness in a seriously fun way. He was a generous spirit, a kind and supportive colleague, and was passionate about Pride. We loved and respected him and will miss him a great deal.
A fundraiser for Mind has been set up in memory of David.
