Another Distinguée

Twenty-three years after the first Distinguished Piece, La Ribot has created her fifth series – Another Distinguée. 

The spectator is invited into a particular yet familiar space – a black cube – where a vast looming dark presence dominates. 

Joined by actor Juan Loriente and dancer Thami Manekehla, La Ribot moves the audience around the opaque and sinister shadows, exploring the invisibility, and opening up infinite and multiple points of view. 

Originally conceived as fragmented discourses punctuating her life, La Ribot's Distinguished Pieces push the boundaries of choreography, reframing our view of the body as both object and subject.
