Come in! Join us at the Artsadmin Arts Bar & Café
We are spotlighting the café in the 1000th edition of the e-Digest to invite you, our artist and freelancer network, to join us there to work, hang out and share space together.
Artsadmin’s Arts Bar & Café, located on the ground floor of our home Toynbee Studios, has a special place in our hearts. It is here where we meet and greet our local community, the art makers and cultural workers whom we welcome into our spaces. We are spotlighting the café in this 1000th edition of the e-Digest to invite you, our artist and freelancer network, to join us there to work, hang out, and share space together.
To kickstart this invitation, for the month of February we’re bringing back community event Morning Producers. Every Wednesday in February, Cat, from our producing team, and Val, from our artist support team, will be in the café from 10am to 12pm. We’ll be doing our usual Wednesday morning work, and we invite you to join us for a chat, bring your own work, or just come and spend time together.
We’d like to emphasise that there is no need for you to buy anything when you’re in the café, and you’re welcome to bring your own food and drink. The space (and our Wifi!) is there for you to use, and we hope that it provides a welcoming environment in these isolated times.
If you’ve been working from your bedroom or bathroom for the past year, why not make the trip to Shoreditch for a trendy, productive morning at Artsadmin’s Arts Bar & Café? Come in, join us.
The café is vegetarian and offers a sustainably and ethically-sourced menu, in line with Artsadmin’s values and environmental policy and action plan. In addition, the café hosts Bangladeshi-inspired lunches every Wednesday by TATI, a not-for-profit community organisation that champions Bangla creativity. You can read more about TATI here.
Last year, we hosted the Apocalypse Reading Room project and residences in the café, and later this spring we are inviting Dublin-based artist Jennie Moran to take up residence in partnership with local artists to help us re-envision how our cafe fits into the ecosystem of Toynbee Studios and the communities that surround us. This will lead to an installation and series of events in summer and autumn 2022 – stay tuned!
