Letters to the Earth

Letters to the Earth on Friday 12th April, 6.30-8.30pm, is a chance to come together to discuss and share positive actions in response to the climate emergency we face.

It’s part of a joint day of action, organised by Culture Declares Emergency, in which 50 venues will host readings of letters drawn from a pool of 1,000 personal, poetic, urgent and passionate pieces, written by people from around the world. Already confirmed as readers are Jamie Beddard, Gareth Brierley and Julian Maynard Smith. Artsadmin, along with many of the artists we work with, our European partners, Julies Bicycle and a host of others, has been committed to taking action on climate change for several years through our work, our building and operations.

As well as recent projects by artists such as METIS, Clare Patey and Amy Sharrocks, we’ve programmed and hosted 2 Degrees Festival every other year since 2009, for audiences to engage with climate change and alternative, positive visions of the future. We believe that we can all play a part in making the urgent changes we need to make to try and limit the rise in global temperatures.

Join us on Friday if you can, or follow #letterstotheearth @CultureDeclares to add your voice, your hopes and your energy to the movement. If we act together now, there’s a chance we can make a difference.
