The Seat Of Your Pants was the second part of Mark Storors triptych created in collaboration with a range of young people and emerging artists.

The group worked with Mark for 4 weeks in the theatre at Toynbee studios that culminated in a series of “boutique performances” that showcased the process each participants had been through during the project.

The group experimented with a range of techniques, and exercises to develop and push their creative approaches to making live work. Participants journeys included tracking through a landscape of broken bookcases, climbing mountains of theatre chairs, reviving themselves with palm squeezed plum juice and encountering icng sugar, breathing dragons along the way.

The summer project aims to encourage young people to get involved in making contemporary artwork and learning techniques for doing this from both their peers and from some of the leading performance and theatre makers working today.

This years participants were: Ahnu Ahn, Daniel Bendelman, Cara Davies, Simon Dodi, Katherine Fishman Rowenna Gordon, Lisa Grant, Sophie Morgan, and Jess Scott.

Mark Storor is an award winning artist who works in the space between live art and theatre. His work is devised, often site specific and always collaborative. Recent work includes the TMA Award winning For The Best: “a devastating theatrical journey that throws dazzling light on the idea as illness as metaphor” (The Guardian) and The Fat Girl Gets A Haircut which opened at the Roundhouse in London earlier this year: “The wintry luminescence of Fat Girl is gorgeous stuff and a welcome return to the Roundhouse. experimental roots.” (Time Out London)

In August 2012 Mark Storor will be running the finale of his three year work with Artsadmin, The Skin of My Teeth.
