Unlimited announces over £715,000 of commissions for 34 disabled artists

Artsadmin is one of the lead delivery partners of Unlimited, which today announces the 34 exceptional UK disabled artists and companies who will receive over £715,000 in funding to develop new commissions across all art forms.
This year, Artsadmin is also partnering on a co-commission, which has been awarded to Mish Weaver, who will create roaming devised work, combining performance, spoken word and projection to celebrate difference with empathetic humour and amplify climate consciousness.
Róise Goan, Artistic Director, Artsadmin said: “This year’s selection of Unlimited commissions represent a breadth of talent and ambition that gives us many reasons to celebrate. Of particular pride is our partnership with Unlimited to co-commission Mish Weaver’s Parade of Horribles, a daring, collaborative-performance work for the street. After eight years of successfully co-delivering Unlimited with Shape Arts, we are thrilled to see this vitally important commissioning programme transition to its own organisation over the next year, and excited for future collaborations with the independent Unlimited.”
Unlimited, which has been co-delivered by Shape Arts and Artsadmin with Senior Producer Jo Verrent since 2013, supports disabled artists to create and present their work across all art forms, thanks to support from Arts Council England, Arts Council of Wales and Creative Scotland. In this round, 468 artists applied and 77 artists were shortlisted, with 34 artists in the final selection.
