Lloyd Newson | The Cost of Living
DV8 Physical Theatre
7.30pm. Free.
Stuck in a faded seaside town, street-performers David and Eddie struggle to find work and romance. Their stories are told through a combination of stylised movement and dialogue. All of the stories are about how we value ourselves and other people… the cost of living…
DV8's work is about taking risks, both physically and aesthetically, dealing with personal politics and, above all, communicating ideas and feelings clearly and unpretentiously. It is determined to be radical yet accessible, and to take its work to as wide an audience as possible.
This rare London screening of a work that is part dance film, part drama will be accompanied by a selection of shorter film works by artists exploring the possibilities of working with dance and moving image, including:
Travelling/Through: City (2013)
Artists: Natalie Adams, Tuan Ly
