BE PART was a 4-year project exploring the ethics of participatory arts practices, supported by EU funding.
Working with 10 international co-creators, BE PART supported artists and organisations to collectively challenge and explore power structures within participatory arts practice. Though the project, we collaborated with artists to make and share new work in Aberdeenshire, Tunis, Cork, Brussels, Riga, Santarcangelo, Helsinki and many other places.
Through Artsadmin’s work with BE PART, we:
- Implemented a new youth programme for young people local to Toynbee Studios, Tower Hamlets
- Expanded our creative criminal justice work, delivering more projects and programmes in prisons and in the community
- Invited artist collectives to curate elements of our public programme at Toynbee Studios
