Museum of Water

Free, 11am-5pm (4pm finish on Saturday).

Museum of Water is a collection of publicly donated water and accompanying stories. As part of a series of visits to Lancaster with Live at LICA, the Museum of Water will be on campus as part of Lancaster University’s OPEN festival.

The Museum invites you to consider the ways in which you enjoy water: do you swim in pools, do you splash in puddles, do you drink from taps?

Choose which water is most precious to you. Find a bottle to put it in. Tell us why you chose this water. We will keep it for you.

Accumulating over two years in different sites worldwide, Museum of Water is an invitation to ponder our precious liquid and how we use it.

To donate, or for more information please visit museumofwater.co.uk.

Give us your water.

Museum of Water and Water Bar were originally curated by Artakt, Central St. Martins at University of the Arts London and commissioned as part of Cartographies of Life & Death – John Snow & Disease Mapping for the London School of Hygiene and Medicine. Supported by the Wellcome Trust and through public funding from the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
