Calling Tree

Following the creation of bespoke versions for two London locations in 2016, Rosemary Lee and Simon Whitehead bring Calling Tree to the historic city of Pamplona. Simon will be working with three members of the original team – Gisele Edwards, David Bernstein and Ben Stammers – and developing an itinerant performance between significant trees situated within and around the old town walls. 

Their ten-day presence in the city culminates in two days of public events and happenings as they appear and disappear throughout the day. Sometimes running through the streets and at other times moving through the canopy of trees, the performers create a cacophony of birdsong, song and text, as they call out to incidental passers-by and spectators.
