Mad Gyms and Kitchens: a work in progress

Bobby Baker was artist in residence at the Institute for Contemporary Interdisciplinary Arts in Bath in June 2010. During her residency she and sculptor Charlie Whittuck researched and developed a new show due to première at ICIA in 2011 before touring nationally. Based on Bobby’s experiences of recovery from serious physical and mental ill health, Mad Gyms and Kitchens investigates the benefits of exercise and nutrition in the pursuit of wellbeing. Bobby will perform a series of hilarious and informative ‘demonstrations’ on fantastical equipment designed by Charlie to assist Bobby in her quest for perfect health.
 
An intriguing multi-media exhibition at ICIA, including drawings and models, will display the artists’ processes.
