Cafe Glooptopia

Oozing Gloop

A relaxed coffee morning with the world’s premiere autistic drag queen

Cafe Glooptopia is an open format coffee morning devoted to discussion and divinations for political hope!

Complimentary beverages, biscuits, pens and pre-stained coffee cards will be supplied for us all to draw around and see what we can see in the stains. Just as mystics read tea leaves, we will find a manifesto in the mistakes!

After drawing, we will draw on fantasy, sci-fi, intuition and our collective imagination to conjure previously unimagined political propositions of potent potential! That means fab, fun, new, never before seen ideas of how we might live!

This is an extremely relaxed event where everyone is invited to sit down with the world’s premiere autistic drag queen (Oozing Gloop!) and take some time to care! A place to pool resources and perspectives away from the comments section and work out what to do in this big old mess.

Part of What Shall We Build Here, Artsadmin’s festival of art, climate and community from 8-12 September.

Watch Oozing Gloop perform Going to Glooptopia on 8 September, a free outdoor drag performance at Toynbee Studios.

OOZING GLOOP is a transgressive drag savant who has completed 500 miles of queer pilgrimage through the co-ordinates of their unconscious. This was the furnace that melded six years of disappointing study with a sublime cabaret practice. Creating a provocative performance practice of queer spectacle exploring Awe; the awful, the awesome and the autistic. Her interdisciplinary practice seeks to put a very particular voice upon a powerful pedestal of the universal subject and seeks to make society assimilate her. In the same way as society expects him to assimilate it. Troublesome, camp and revolting.
