FK Alexander is a Glasgow based performance artist whose work is concerned with wound, recovery, aggressive healing, radical wellness and noise music.
Ongoing work is Further Investigative Experiments into technological rebellion, the decline of western civilisation, new animal ways and survival. Employed elements include drone, frequency, waste, strobe and hammers.
Collaborations include Lea Cummings, Sarah Glass Thomas John Bacon, P6, Paul Michael Henry, and Louise Ahl.
Their work can place the body at the centre of ritualised action in often ridiculous attempts to communicate ideas around new language new violence and new love.
FK identifies as living in recovery from drug addiction and mental collapse and firmly believes we are all trying to recover from something or someone.
This work finds its home in outdoor performances, studio work, nightclubs and and noise music gigs.
As a former DJ, FK is interested in placing performance art in rock and roll settings and rock and roll in performance art.
Their work has been seen at Buzzcut Festival, Spill Festival of Performance, InBetween Time, Arches Live, Behaviour, MPA Berlin, Tempting Failure, Steakhouse Live, Latitude, Edinburgh Fringe and Exeunt Magazine, as well as streets, derelict building sites and forests.
They have been supported through Artsadmin, Creative Scotland, Arts Council England, LADA, Jerwood Charitable Foundation and Summerhall Edinburgh, with mentoring by Lydia Lunch.
FK graduated with a First Class honours degree from The Royal Conservatoire Scotland in 2014.
Work produced since 2015 via an Amplifier – Nick Anderson.
