Residency and solo show at Rice University Gallery, Houston, Texas USA
Focusing their attention on the architectural exterior of the building the gallery was housed in, a magnified image in grass of bricks and mortar in layering depth and perspective filled the near entirety of the back wall.
The companion work took hard currency, a one-dollar bill, and recreated it’s image in grass. Folded to echo the structure of the brick columns, it drew a connection between the oil rich environment of Houston and the fundamental relationship between light, photosynthesis, oil and money.
