Death Actually

6.30pm. £25/£18 concessions.

Death comes to us all; it’s a part of our lives.

GOTcompany’s debut production Death Actually, celebrates death in all its humanity, encouraging us to do away with the taboos that stop us talking about it, in three equally poignant, equally lively musical acts.

JS Bach’s motets are given a lively physicality as they are staged for the first time. Schubert’s famous collection of songs Die schöne Müllerin, is theatrically recreated to capture the visceral journey of a young man’s path through love to self-destruction. And for a wake, Norwegian group Barokksolistene present an alehouse session. A reminder of all that is invigorating and great in life.

Spitalfields Music presents a GOTcompany production. Part of Spitalfields Music Summer Festival.

Supported by Fenton Arts Trust.
