Sweatshop – Touring (International)

2.30-5.30pm. Free.

Artsadmin Sweatshops are informal hands-on sessions for artists focusing on a key area of artistic or professional development.

This November, Artsadmin producers and advisors will facilitate a new Sweatshop on International Touring. Through practical exercises and discussion, the group session will explore what it means to make and tour work internationally.

Aimed at contemporary performance makers and live artists who are looking to move their work into an international context, the Sweatshop will unpick some of the logistical aspects of international touring, from approaching promoters to budgeting and negotiations, communications and audience development. Artsadmin producers will share tips and strategies, as well as inviting artists to share their own experiences, advice and dilemmas.

Artsadmin supports artists working in live art and performance and so places for Sweatshops are available only to artists working directly in these fields.

This will be a discursive, free session for up to twelve artists. To book, email advisoryservice@artsadmin.co.uk with a short introduction to your practice and why you’d like to attend the International Touring Sweatshop.

Please make sure you are able to attend before reserving a place.
