Summer School

Summary

Young people aged 16-19 years old work with an emerging artist or artist collective for one intensive week each summer to create collaborative, contemporary performance with a sharing at the end of the week.

Further information

Summer School provides a way for young people and emerging artists to take part in an immersive learning experience in contemporary performance practice. Artsadmin’s Education Producer works in collaboration with the selected lead artist to deliver and facilitate the Summer School, concluding with a shared outcome for an invited audience.

We identify and bring together a range of participants who might not usually get involved in contemporary performance practices by making connections with local organisations and by delivering a series of introductory workshops in sixth form colleges and schools. Participants attend a taster workshop and from there a core group will take part in the Summer School intensive.
