Something Other: Reading the Internet
7.30pm. £3.
Scrolling twitter while sitting on the toilet.
Skim-reading a blog when sardined into a commuter train.
Dipping into an essay while queuing in a shop, waiting for a bus, stirring a saucepan of dinner.
Searching for reviews on walking through the exit and beginning the journey home.
How do you read the internet?
Something Other is a collaboration in digital space that considers the relationship between live art and its documentation/representation/traces online. Its lead artists, Mary Paterson and Maddy Costa, invite you to an evening in which these traces travel full circle, as writings from and through live art find a new expression in performance.
Will we resist the lure of email alerts? Will we honour every word? Will we lose our rag when a page keeps buffering? How do you stage the internet?
