Sweatshop: Audience

2.30-5.30pm. To book your free place, please email advisoryservice@artsadmin.co.uk.

Artsadmin Sweatshops are informal hands-on afternoon sessions for artists focusing on a key area of artistic or professional development.

In this new Sweatshop, Artsadmin’s marketing and artist development team and producers facilitate a discussion on how to identify, reach, and develop an audience for your work. The workshop will feature practical exercises around marketing strategies and audience development examples. It will also focus on writing about public engagement for funding applications and think about how to match the best marketing activity with your the aims of your project.

The Sweatshop is also an opportunity to discuss audience development more widely, thinking about at what point audiences become involved in your work, the level of engagement you are interested in exploring (from participation projects to touring performance works) and whose responsibility it is to identify and gather an audience between artist, venue, and producer.

This will be a discursive, free session for up to twelve artists. To book, email advisoryservice@artsadmin.co.uk with a short introduction to your practice and why you’d like to attend the Audience Sweatshop.

Please make sure you are able to attend before reserving a place.
