Make Space: Summer Project 2013

2013

What is space? Why do we think of space as nothing? How can we go beyond our spaces into the spaces of others? What kind of space could we create ourselves and what could grow there?

This summer Artsadmin invites you to work with celebrated perfomance artist Nic Green to think about these questions and more.

Spend four weeks challenging your ideas on how we see and experience the space around us – you’ll get a chance to experiment, collaborate, and take time to create your own work as part of a creative group of like-minded people.

After starting at Artsadmin’s Toynbee Studios, we will work with the group to choose a space, somewhere in the City, that will become your own space for the life of the project. This could be anything from a flat in a tower block to an empty warehouse; a space that is waiting to be claimed, waiting to be inhabited. The space you choose and how you use it is up to you.

Make Space is a free four-week project open to anyone aged 17 – 24, no performance experience necessary. The project runs from 12 August – 4 September (10am-5pm Monday to Friday) and you need to be able to commit to all the dates.

If you are interested please send 200 words on why you are interested in taking part. We will get back to you and sign you up to a taster workshops that will take place at Toynbee Studios on Tuesday 30 July.

Deadline for applications/ expressions of interest is 17 July 2013.

For more information and to apply please contact Sam Trotman on 020 7247 5102 or email samtrotman@artsadmin.co.uk.
