Lab
Artsadmin Lab is a curated residency programme based at Toynbee Studios, supporting artists in the early stages of developing new work.
These residencies offer dedicated time and space for live and interdisciplinary practices. Rather than working towards a finished outcome, artists use the programme to research, test ideas, build collaborations and deepen their projects.
What to expect:
Artsadmin Lab runs two seasonal residencies in 2026. The Summer Cohort runs from 24–28 August 2026 and the Autumn Cohort will take place from 12–16 October 2026.
Each cohort brings together three artists for a focused period of studio-based research and development, encouraging dialogue, risk-taking and shared learning. Each artist receives:
- Free rehearsal space: One week residency at Toynbee Studios
- Financial support: £1,000
- Mentorship: Ongoing guidance from the Artsadmin producing team for one year
- Lab Alumni: Access to the Artsadmin Lab Alumni Network, including invitations to events, opportunities to share work at ELABOLATE
- Opportunities: Invitations to share work and take part in future Artsadmin programme events
Who is it for?
Artsadmin Lab is open to UK-based contemporary performance artists who have participated in the Artsadmin Artist Support Programme activities. To be eligible, you must have taken part in one of these activities during the qualifying period for the relevant open call.
